About This Work:

The painting of The Victory Garden was painted outside of Tyler School of Art in a little area called Lamott in Cheltenham. It is where Lucretia La Mott had an underground railroad. There is a lovely little garden where the descendents of the slaves and art students share a garden growing vegetables and flowers. I have painted many scenes from this neighborhood and have always been captivated by this community. Tyler is now moving to main campus. I hope the area survives. I painted this one on a windy May day a couple years ago.
